What’s the difference between Documents and Templates?

A document is linked to a specific signer, or group of signers. 

A template is a generic version of a document, that defines all the signer roles and fields belonging to each of these, that can easily be sent out many times. The signer details are entered each time the template is used, and a new document is generated from the template each time it is sent.
